Pop-Up Card [Tenyo T-184]
With Pop-Up Card, a thought-of card rises by itself! A magician’s dream becomes reality with this new 1999 effect from Tenyo! Three cards are chosen from a group of nine miniature cards, and one of the three is then mentally selected by your spectator. The nine cards are well mixed, and placed inside of a card case. By casting a magical spell, you case one card to rise up slowly from within the case, as if by it’s own power, and then stop. You ask the spectator the name of the mentally selected card, and then show the face of the card which had previously risen. They match exactly! The magical effect of a selected card rising upwards is called the ‘Rising Cards’. There are various versions of this effect, most of which utilize complicated working methods. Professional magicians enjoy performing the ‘Rising Cards’, as it is very effective. One of the dreams of many magicians is to perform the ‘Rising Cards’ with a thought-of card, without having one physically selected. Those of you familiar with the great John Kennedy effect "Visible Coins To Glass" will appreciate the vastly improved gimmick and handling used in Sonic Silver. Display three half dollars, a coffee cup, and a BIC pen. Magician states "Watch closely," while holding one of the coins. Wave the pen over your hand and the coin disappears, then pick up the cup and suddenly there's a loud clink - the coin has mysteriously dropped inside! "A skeptic would think that I used sleight-of-hand while holding the cup, so this time I'll leave it on the table." Take the second coin and wave the pen over your hand. Again the coin vanishes, and again there is a loud clink inside the cup even though no one is anywhere near it! Dump out both coins, display them, then replace them inside. "A really persistent skeptic might think that I somehow tossed the coin into the cup, so this time I'll make it totally impossible." Use a deck of cards to cover the mouth of the cup so that nothing could possibly get inside. Take the last coin in your hand and slowly wave the pen, explaining, "It's going to happen on the count of three. One, two... three!" At that instant the coin vanishes from your hand and a loud clink is heard from inside the cup. You reach over, lift off the deck and dump all three coins from the cup, leaving your audience completely flabbergasted! Wait until you see how good this looks! And there's no reset - just toss the coins back into the cup and you're ready to go again. Zig Zag Cigarette [Tenyo T-110]
Since the invention of the fantastic Zig Zag Lady Illusion by Robert Harbin, people have been fascinated with the idea of cutting someone into thirds and restoring them. Now you can carry this pocket size version with you at all times. A borrowed cigarette is placed into a three sectioned chamber. Then in full view of the spectators, the magician slides the center section to one side cutting the cigarette into three pieces. To the amazement of the audience, the process is reversed and the cigarette is restored to its original state. Cigarette can even be signed after it is cut!
